There are 7 steps to getting your franchise agreement signed! Here’s what to expect from our franchise process:

Annie Thomas
  1. Inquiry Form. Complete a short form with your contact information, your territory of interest, and your net worth and liquid capital status. This helps us gather some details for you and is not a binding form.
  2. Overview Call. Within one business day of receiving your inquiry, a member of our franchise team will reach out to schedule an overview call to answer any initial questions you may have and prepare you for the next steps.
  3. FDD Review. We will send you our franchise disclosure document (FDD) for review. The FDD provides you with information about us, our franchise system, our respective roles, and general agreements that will need to be signed.
  4. Become Qualified. We perform our due diligence by fully qualifying you as a franchisee.
  5. Planning Your Location(s). Once qualified, we discuss your territory or area of development and go further into the foundation of the brand and our values.
  6. Summit Day. You visit other Beans & Brews Coffeehouse locations and meet the support team at our corporate office.
  7. Signing the Franchise Agreement. When you’re ready to become a Beans & Brews Coffeehouse franchisee, we provide you with the franchise agreement. Now you’re officially a member of the Bean’s team.

Timeline to Opening your
Beans & Brews Coffeehouse

8-18 Months
Overview of steps in the timeline to opening your Beans & Brews Coffeehouse in 8-18 months

Franchise Awarded

When you become a part of the Beans family, we will provide you access to the Beans & Brews admin website where you will discover the operations manual, the policy manual, current and archived news, training videos, and more. You can review these materials while searching for the site location.

Site Selection
(1-6 months)

We will select a local broker who will work with you and our team to find best location(s) based on Beans & Brews site criteria and approval. This process may be quick with an existing site or a site that is under construction. New sites built from the ground up may take longer.

Lease Negotiations
(1 - 3 months)

Once the site is identified, we will work with you and the broker to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to the developer or landlord. We will assist with negotiating the lease rate, the lease term, and the Tenant Improvement (TI) allowance. While we have 30 years of experience negotiating leases, we recommend counsel review everything prior to signing.

House Design and Marketing
(1 week)

The Beans & Brews marketing team will review with you house design elements including furniture, fixtures, and the art package. The team will also review the marketing and grand opening plans.

Architecture and Construction
(4 - 6 months)

The Beans & Brews construction team will create a floorplan and the architect or engineer will provide stamped architectural plans. Once complete, we will assist you with obtaining bids for construction. Once the general contractor is been selected, they will submit plans to the building and health departments for review and permit approval.

The Beans & Brews construction team will oversee all aspects of the project to ensure your coffeehouse is being built according to plans and brand standards. Once construction and inspection are complete, a certificate of occupancy is issued, and you are ready to open.

Training and Store Set Up
(1 - 2 months)

During construction, owners and operators will train with our franchise operations team online, at the corporate office, and at an open store. The Beans & Brews construction team will assist with getting quotes and ordering furniture, fixtures, and equipment from approved vendors.

Upon construction completion, you will be directed with equipment store setup, merchandising, and stocking your coffeehouse. Staff will be thoroughly trained at your site by you and the Beans & Brews franchise operations team.
